What’s New for the 2024 BMW i5?
The 2024 i5 is an all-new EV in the BMW lineup. This midsize sedan takes its position in the lineup between the i4 and i7, based on the gas-powered 5 Series sedan. While it displays the current BMW design language from end to end, it is decidedly individualized with an engaging personality. Its sophistication shines through the smoothly accentuated doors, which boast a lower lip to highlight the i5’s road-hugging position. The hood decadently rounds into the chrome-outlined, kidney-style grille. Unlike other current BMW models, this is a glossy black grille with defined corners. A black finish also covers the athletic lower fascia. The headlights make a statement with a pair of LED bulbs set off by arched LED bars. It has 19-inch wheels, a Sky Lounge roof, and a few additional exterior features.
The 2024 BMW i5 will be available in two trim levels, and these are the eDrive40 and the M60 xDrive. While both trim levels have the same battery pack, the eDrive40 has a single-motor system and generates 335 horsepower. The motor drives the rear wheels. The M60 xDrive is an all-wheel drive vehicle with two motors, benefiting from 593 horsepower. The eDrive40 has a 270-mile range, and the top trim level has a 240-mile range.
The two-row i5 is designed and equipped for comfort with multi-contoured sport seats covered in Veganza upholstery and larger cabin dimensions than the 5 Series offers. The infotainment system screen and driver’s digital instruments are housed in a single, curved display. The latest iDrive 8.5 software is included. Additional features are Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a navigation system, an Air Console system, highway driving assistance, active lane change, hands-free driving, heated seats with massaging front seats, a head-up display, a wireless charging station, a wireless hotspot, and a Harman Kardon stereo system.
