Serving Elmhurst, IL

Crossover SUV shoppers with high standards for performance and luxury are often drawn to the BMW X3 and its larger sibling, the X5. The compact X3 and the midsize X5 receive exciting updates for the 2025 model year. What can you expect from these elite models?

Performance

In 2025, the X3 will have the same powertrain options, but they will be enhanced with mild-hybrid engineering. The entry-level engine is a turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, 255-horsepower unit. The alternative is a turbo 3.0-liter, inline-six, 393-horsepower system. The X5 is available with two mild-hybrid gas engines and a plug-in hybrid alternative. The turbo 3.0-liter V6 system produces 375 horsepower, and the turbo 4.4-liter V8 generates 523 horsepower. The PHEV mates a turbo V6 with an electric motor to produce 483 horsepower. It travels 40 miles on all-electric power.

Appearance

The 2025 X3 has an edgy, inspired look with a tall profile and eye-catching definition crossing the lower door panels. The small, kidney-style grille, sectioned lower fascia, and triangular air vents on the nose have sharp angles. The headlights are also styled with a pair of angled LED bars. The 2025 X5, on the other hand, has stronger curves throughout its profile while maintaining its height. The sides display dark molding, a front-fender air inlet, and premium door contouring. The kidney-shaped grille and bumper have chrome accents. The headlights are slender and elegant.

Features

The X3 is outfitted with a digital instrument panel, a large central display screen, touch-sensitive controls, an iDrive knob in the console, Digital Premium connectivity, a parking assistant, leather upholstery, heated seats, push-button ignition, and others. The X5 adds a third row of seating in the cabin, hands-free driving assistance, a backup camera, a four-zone climate control system, massaging front seats, and a few other high-end features.
