Celebrate Black History Month with Rev. Dr. William Barber II – BMW of Elmhurst Dealer

To honor Black History Month, Benedictine University will welcome renowned pastor and champion of social justice, Rev. Dr. William Barber II. The esteemed speaker will be speaking at the university on Feb. 10 from 2-3 p.m. We at BMW of Elmhurst encourage everyone to head down to Lisle to attend what we’re sure will be an informative and enlightening talk.

Rev. Dr. William Barber II is a prominent pastor, social justice activist, and public speaker known for his powerful advocacy and leadership in the fight against systemic racism and poverty. He’s the founding director of the Center for Public Theology and Public Policy at the Yale Divinity School. Throughout his career, Rev. Dr. Barber has been a steadfast champion for the marginalized and oppressed, inspiring countless individuals with his passion and commitment to creating a more just and equitable society. His speeches and sermons are delivered with a powerful blend of religious and political conviction. They have captivated audiences and earned him widespread recognition as one of today’s most influential voices for change.

Black History Month is an annual observance in the United States dedicated to honoring and celebrating the achievements and contributions of African Americans to American history and culture. It takes place in February and was first recognized by President Gerald Ford in 1976. During this month, events and activities are held across the country to commemorate the rich heritage and legacy of African Americans and to raise awareness about the ongoing struggle for racial equality and social justice.

The event is open to all members of the public. There is no cost to attend. However, pre-registration is strongly encouraged to secure your spot.
