The Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra is pleased to present Heavenly Harp & Beautiful Brass: A French Connection, available Friday, Oct. 23, at 7:00 p.m. through Nov. 6. The first of two virtual fall musical programs, A French Connection offers audiences the opportunity to see ESO Principal Harp Janelle Lake, the soloist in Ravel’s Introduction and Allegro for Harp and Orchestra. This piece highlights the talents of the harp and chamber ensemble. At BMW of Elmhurst, we enjoy the performances of the ESO. A French Connections provides a great way to experience the orchestra from the comfort of your home.

A French ConnectionESO Music Director and Conductor Stephen Alltop will join Janelle Lake in Grandjany’s Aria in Classic Style for Harp and Organ. Other works include Gottschalk’s Souvenir de Porto Rico and Fanfare pour La Péri by Dukas.

A French Connection includes commentary by Maestro Alltop explaining the lives and music of the composers, as well as their influence on music and background information on the works presented. The program also includes interviews with ESO members Janelle Lake, Sarah Carillo and Matthew Gaunt.

Janelle Lake has been the principal harpist of the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra since 2005. She plays harp throughout Chicagoland and the United States.
