Family Day: Animal Architects at the Art Museum – BMW of Elmhurst

August 2nd, 2022 by

Get ready for Family Day: Animal Architects. This special STEAM family program takes place at the Elmhurst Art Museum on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 1-4 p.m. The workshop examines the reasons and methods diverse animal species use different materials to create many types of homes. During this program, children will have the opportunity to use natural materials to create their own interpretations of animal homes. The proceedings will be led by Amy Philips Coffman of The Conservation Foundation in Naperville, the event’s partner organization. At BMW of Elmhurst, we know this will be an excellent opportunity for kids to get involved with learning about the intersection of the natural world and art. It will be an entertaining and informative experience.

Family Day: Animal ArchitectsAmy Coffman Phillips is a licensed architect, sustainability consultant, naturalist, and educator with expertise in biomimicry and systemic resilience.
