The museum’s second floor has been transformed into an interactive exhibit that will transport you to different periods of Elmhurst history. This ongoing exhibition is updated periodically, so even if you visited before, you’ll find something new to see and learn about. By All Accounts: The Story of ElmhurstThe exhibit includes a great selection of photos and items from the Elmhurst History Museum’s collection. Visitors will enjoy the award-winning, interactive map of Elmhurst that spotlights the city’s history, from the past to the present. There’s also documentary on Elmhurst history that you can watch in the exhibit’s mini-theatre.

Founded in 1957, the Elmhurst History Museum is a department of the City of Elmhurst and receives support from the Elmhurst Heritage Foundation. The museum is home to a vast collection that includes more than 15,000 objects and artifacts, over 10,000 historic photos, a library that contains more than 500 books, and many years of Elmhurst records. The museum provides a host of resources to help residents discover local history, such as exhibitions, gallery tours, workshops and more.
