Participate in Art in the Post – BMW of Elmhurst Dealer

There’s still time to be a part of the Art in the Post exhibition, which will take place at the Elmhurst Art Museum from September 10 to November 22, 2020. Participants are encouraged to create artwork on a postcard or an index card and share something about your life. Postcards will be exhibited at the museum. Here at BMW of Elmhurst, we appreciate the Elmhurst Art Museum’s efforts to continue to keep our community engaged with the art world, particularly during this trying time.

Participate in Art in the PostThis exhibition was originally intended as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the theme has been expanded to include topics such as racial justice and other news of the day. Submissions to Art in the Post will be accepted until August 30, 2020. All ages are welcome.

Here are some suggestions and instructions for formatting your postcard for Art in the Post.

  • Keep it Short: Keep your message brief to fit on a postcard.
  • Easy to Read: Make sure it’s legible.
  • Get Creative: Customize your postcard to make it unique. Share your thoughts and reflections about how you spent your time during the Stay at Home order, write a poem or even share recipes.

Instructions:

  • Use a postcard you have or make your own! Format it properly so it gets to the museum. If you use an index card to make your own postcard, it should be at least 4 x 6 inches.
  • Design the front of your postcard or use it to share your message.
  • Mail your postcard to the art museum or drop it off at the dropbox outside the museum’s Education Center. If you’re mailing your postcard, put a stamp on it and send it to the address below.
