Rockin’ with Freebyrd – BMW of Elmhurst Dealer

The Elmhurst American Legion Post 187 and the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry presents Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band Freebyrd on Aug. 14, 2021, at 7 p.m. The concert will be held at the Legion’s Normandy Banquet Room. At BMW of Elmhurst, we’re big fans of live music. We hope you get a chance to catch what promises to be an exciting performance by this local band.

Freebyrd is a local tribute band that recreates the songs of Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd. Freebyrd puts their heart and soul into every performance, the way Southern Rock was meant to be played! Band members include Ken Erickson, Mandy Bajek Harnack, Dave Nickrand, Chris McPherson, Scott Tomeczko, and Mitch Wierzgac. They’ll play all the Lynyrd Skynyrd favorites, including Sweet Home Alabama, Freebird, That Smell, Saturday Night Special and more!

Lynyrd Skynyrd is an American rock band formed in Jacksonville, Florida. The band released its first album in 1973. The band released five studio albums and a live album. On October 20, 1977, the band’s chartered airplane crashed, killing two band members, including lead singer Ronnie Van Zant and seriously injuring the rest of the band. The band reformed in 1987, with Ronnie’s brother Johnny Van Zant taking over lead vocals.

The Freebyrd concert is sponsored by Community Bank of Elmhurst. Members of the audience will have access to the adjoining indoor bar and outdoor meeting area. The cover charge will benefit the ECCI Centennial Celebration NFP’s Civic Hall of Fame Public Memorial Fund. Sales of food and drinks will benefit the American Legion post.
