The fotoMuses Present Potpourri – Elmhurst BMW Dealer
Photography lovers should save the month of February to see Potpourri, an exhibit by the fotoMuses. This exhibit takes place at the Elmhurst Art Museum’s EAG Gallery on Feb. 2-28. The fotoMuses are a group of talented women photographers from the Chicago area. As the name suggests, Potpourri is a collection that is a reflection of this 15-woman group’s different artistic styles and sensibilities. While the exhibit represents a mix of various types of work, the individual pieces fit together cohesively to form a whole. At Elmhurst BMW, we support our artistic community, and we value the work of the Elmhurst Artists Guild and the Elmhurst Art Museum.
According to the organizers, Potpourri doesn’t have a theme. Instead, the members of the fotoMuses were told to let their inner muses express themselves. The exhibit includes work by Cheryl Rausch, Joan Trushin, Anne Frantzen, Joanne Barsanti, Barbara Work, Diane Bruno, Noriko Buckles, Janice Henry, Delta Greene, Joan Ladendorf, Linda Markese, Marjorie Reichart, Joan Kalmanek, Marita Blanken and Judy Kinal.
Potpourri by the fotoMuses will be at the EAG Gallery from Feb. 2-28, 2020. The public is welcome to attend the opening reception on Friday, Feb. 7, from 7-9 p.m.
The EAG Gallery is run by the Elmhurst Artist’s Guild, a not-for-profit organization. The gallery exhibits many styles of contemporary art in different media. The EAG hosts four member shows annually, along with several invitational exhibitions and individual shows by notable local artists.
