The New 2021 BMW 330e Plug-in Hybrid – BMW of Elmhurst Dealer
The 2021 330e plug-in hybrid and 330e xDrive sedans are the newest additions to the 3 Series model lineup. Both models feature BMW’s latest eDrive technology, up-to-date safety and infotainment systems, and advanced driver-assistance features. Drivers will experience trilling performance from both sedans, with lower emissions and the ability for all-electric driving. We think the 2021 330e will be popular here at Elmhurst Toyota, and we can’t wait to get them into our showroom.
According to BMW, the 2021 330e plug-in hybrid sedan gets an EPA-estimated 75 MPGe and can drive solely on electric power for 22 miles. In addition, the all-wheel-drive 330e xDrive will return 67 MPGe and can operate on electric power alone for up to 20 miles.
Powering the BMW 330e and 330e xDrive is a hybrid system that pairs a turbocharged 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo engine gasoline engine generating 181-horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque with an electric motor. This hybrid powertrain has a combined output of 288 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The 330e Plug-in Hybrid’s 12.0-kWh lithium-ion battery is located under the rear seats.
Drivers looking for a burst of power can take advantage of XtraBoost. This feature can be deployed when the vehicle is in Sport mode. XtraBoost provides a 40 hp power increase for up to 10 seconds when the driver fully depresses the accelerator pedal. According to BMW, this allows the vehicle to get to 60 mpg from a standstill in 5.6 seconds in the 330e, while the 330e xDrive can make the trip in 5.7 seconds.
In hybrid mode, the 330e and 330e xDrive can operate up to 68 mph on the battery alone. In electric mode, it can attain speeds of 87 mph.
Both models are scheduled to arrive at dealerships in May. BMW offers a 240-volt Level i Wallbox charging unit that can be professionally installed.
