Watch Wonderful Winds – BMW of Elmhurst Dealer

The Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra returns with Wonderful Winds, a virtual video on demand performance available from Saturday, May 15 through mid-June 2021. This concert, which is the final ESO performance of the season, will feature a variety of thrilling musical pieces showcasing the talents of ESO Principal Trombonist Thomas Stark, including Antonin Dvorak’s “Serenade for Winds,” Scott Joplin’s “Pineapple Rag,” and Carl Maria von Weber’s “Romance for Trombone and Strings.” At BMW of Elmhurst, we’re looking forward to this orchestral performance, and we’re pleased it’s being offered online for everyone to enjoy.

Stark, the adjunct professor of trombone at Elmhurst University, is a sought-after chamber musician, recitalist and freelancer from the Chicagoland area. He has played with several renowned orchestras throughout the U.S., including Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Colorado Symphony in Denver, and the Kansas City Orchestra and Ballet. He has toured with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and the Alliance Brass Quintet and performed with artists such as Ronan Tynan, Josh Groban, Quincy Jones, Vince Gill, Maureen McGovern and ABBA.

When he isn’t performing with the ESO, Stark plays with several small brass groups, including the Chicago Trombone Quartet and Lincoln Park Brass. He was recently the Festival Orchestra’s featured soloist at the Birch Creek Music Performance Center.

The ESO is led by Music Director and Conductor Stephen Alltop. Both Alltop and Stark will provide insightful commentary throughout the Wonderful Winds performance.
